![]() ![]() This will create a new file called SSL-bundle.crt You will need to create a bundle of the certificates, you can do it like this: cat > ssl-bundle.crt Once you buy and activate your SSL key by any of the verification methods you will get 3 files: domain.ca-bundle domain.crt domain.p7b Step two: Preparing the certificate bundle file for NGINX Then take the private key part and save it as a separate file, you can call it anything you want, I like to call it private.key you will need to provide this file to NGINX later, the private key will look something like this: -BEGIN PRIVATE KEY- MIIE.w= -END PRIVATE KEY. (this will be a long string) -END CERTIFICATE REQUEST. When you buy the certificate you will have to provide the first part of the generated, that is the Certificate Request, and will look something like this: -BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST - MIICuj. The CSR Generator will generate 2 things, the Certificate Request and the Private Key, make sure to copy and save both in a safe place! When buying the SSL certificate the provider might warn you that the key could be compromised, if that happens try to generate another key using a different key size, which might fix the problem. ![]() ![]() This tool will provide you with the option to generate a key with either size 2048 or 4096. ![]()
